In Order to be blessed be a blessing to others.
Project Blessed is a non-profit organization that was founded by Britnie Kaplan in 2010, who is also the brainchild behind the IamBAK women's sports clothing line & the SoBella clothing and accessory line. Created to help less fortunate families during the holidays with toys and clothing, the idea formed behind the belief that “you must be a blessing to others in order to be blessed,” quoted by Britnie herself. Last year, Britnie was able to jump start Project Blessed by spreading the word through Facebook, Twitter and getting local businesses involved in the cause.
Events were held by Live Squad ENT, Wolf Pack ENT & LMP to help promote and they are looking to join the fray again this year. Toys and monetary donations came pouring in from seven different states and even London. In the organization's first year, they raised $8,000 in toys and $1,000 in clothing and shoes. This year, Britnie and her team look forward to doubling that if not more.
“My main focus is giving back,” says the 25 year old upcoming entrepreneur, “the holidays are a time where families come together and love one another. One of the most precious moments of my childhood was how my parents were able to present that to me and my siblings. If I have the ability to bring that same warm feeling to other families then I will do as such and I hope that others will join in. Every little bit truly does help. A single donation will make a lifetime impression on a child and could ultimately change their life for the better. I still believe in Santa Claus because everyone of us can be Santa for someone else.”
